The National Center for the Evaluation of Higher Education (Ceneval) is a Mexican non-profit institution founded in 1994 by the National Association of Universities and Higher Education Institutions (ANUIES). Ceneval has a 20-member Board of Trustees integrated by Presidents of public and private Universities, Presidents of the two Universities Associations and the Heads of Professional or Trade Associations.
Ceneval´s mission is the design and administration of tests and assessments for academic purposes mainly for high schools and universities. Ceneval serves hundreds of academic institutions and several government agencies and administers its tests all over the country and a few abroad.
More thann 80 expert groups, integrated by recognized faculty from public and private educational institutions and from all over the country, are in charge of developing the numerous Ceneval instruments (establishing its specifications, setting the cut scores and defining the performance standards). Hundreds of
ad-hoc committees integrated by thousands of teachers and professionals develop and review the items.
